WX SYSTEMS FOUNDER JOINS SUPERVISORY BOARD, September 30 th 2005.
Patrick Aisher, the founder of WX Systems today steps down as the Chief Executive Officer. Nils Lundstrom, an internal candidiate, will replace him. Aisher founded the company as a private partnership in 1990, and developed the business into Wavionix Software Limited in 1994. The company grew significantly and issued a private placement for 20% of its stock in 1997 that was sponsored by The Private Bank & Trust Company Limited (now EFG Bank).
Aisher was appointed CEO in 1997 and oversaw the rapid expansion of the business. In 2000, the company experienced difficulties caused by the departure of one of the founder’s, who sold his shares privately, and the instigation of a US$ 10 Million lawsuit by the company’s US joint-venture partners, combined with a hostile take-over from one of the industry’s largest companies.
Despite these difficulties, Aisher persevered and successfully defended the company from both the take-over and the US litigation, which was ultimately withdrawn. The company changed name to WX Systems in 2002 and has continued to dominate the market for air navigation procedure design software and training services, now licensing tools in more than 100 locations worldwide.
Aisher will now join the company’s supervisory board, and remains the company’s largest shareholder.
